I've moved

I've decided it is no longer time to be The Not So Secret Meg, and become a twosome. Check out http://quinskis.blogspot.com/ to see what is happening in the lives of Josh and Meg Quincy!

Since it has been so long

I will just list some of the fun things Josh and I have been doing. I promise to be better with blogging....

  • One month anniversary-Josh got us a room up at Park City, right on Main Street, and it was awesome. By far the nicest room we have stayed in so far. It was bigger than our apartment, wait, I think the bathtub alone was bigger than our apartment...
  • Skiing/snowboarding - Thanks to our Canyons Season Passes, we have been able to get a couple good skiing days in. Josh more than me unfortunately
  • I cut my hair! 3 inches gone and bangs. I love it!
  • Had the opportunity to go with Brent Devey to the Temple. Such a great experience. I love going to the temple, especially when it is with someone for their first time. We have all been there....
  • Had a little touch of the homesickness. Not that kind of homesickness, but the kind where you miss things being normal
  • Went to the boat show where Josh got to make a wish list. Keep wishing honey!
  • Have been cooking up a storm
  • Did my first YW activity, and even spoke in church. Thank goodness for time running out, and my talk got cut short. Darn.
  • Bought a fab-u-lous Duvet cover from Pottery Barn, and love love love it!

So, there you have it. Just a few fun things we have been doing lately. I promise to try to be better, but it just seems I never have the time anymore. (That is a whole other blog post about time management)

LOST no more

Yep, no more. My one guilty pleasure (yeah, right) is now just a faded memory.

I have been called to be the First Counselor in the Young Woman's Presidency. In our NEW ward, of 3 weeks! The Lord works in mysterious ways, because I didn't think anyone knew my name yet.

Now, I have to give my Wednesdays to the girls, and no longer succumb to an hour on the couch watching Jack and Sawyer fight over Kate.

Darn. Thank goodness for Netflix.

Our Place

We finally have things almost put together. I also finally found a camera that works, so I could take pictures. I think I forgot to mention that mine broke on the honeymoon.

So we start out with the bedroom: (Notice the wonderful brown wall. This color was my idea, and Josh is still warming up to it.)

Next is the Dining Room:

The Kitchen:

Our wood-burning stove: (Everyone needs at least one, good thing we have two...)

The Bathroom:

and last, but certainly not least, Josh's favorite part about our apartment (and a whole OTHER blog post):

The Sauna/Shower:

Old Man Carl, our Landlord who lives upstairs is 87 years old, and deaf as a doornail. However, he is a great man. We check up on him when we come and go, and even have dinner with him every Thursday night. He likes the company, and we like the reduced rent, and the company of course!

Anyhow, we are lucky to have been able to find this place. It is perfect for my work, and even more perfect for Josh and school. We also are lucky to be in a great ward, with great members.

The Honeymoon

We headed off to Southern California with a few stops here and there for our Honeymoon. We had a great time, and even with a Check Engine Light on on the car, we still made it there and back with no problems.

We spent the first night at Thanksgiving Point. Got up early to make our way to a car wash and find a Denny's. The car wash came second, and while Josh was washing, I happened to find the ONLY patch of ice in the whole parking lot. I took a hilarious tumble, and had the bruises to prove it! I just hope someone saw it beside me, because even through the pain, I couldn't stop laughing!
We made our long drive to Vegas, and found our hotel room amongst the rest of the New Year's Eve crowd. The Strip was closed to all car traffic, so we laced up our walking shoes and made our way to Mandalay Bay for some buffeting. I have never eaten crab like I did that night. In fact, I think Josh may have re-considered his wedding vows after he saw what the "buffet crab" did to me.... From our balcony, we watched as all of Las Vegas Blvd was lit up with fireworks. It was fun to ring in our first New Year in Las Vegas.

The next morning, it was gas and breakfast at McD's. In my mom's honor I decided to try the Cinnamon Melts she used to get with the boys when she would watch them. Very, very bad idea. Man, those things are good, and I had them almost everyday of the trip after that. I can gladly say I gained all the weight I have lost in the last few months over the course of our 5 day Honeymoon. It was fantastic! We made our way to our hotel, got our Disneyland passes, and were off like a dirty shirt.

Disneyland and California Adventure were as crowded as I have ever seen them. People everywhere! Not just the usual Japanese either! Even with the cold and fog, people still waited in lines for hours to get in and to ride the rides. Josh and I hit our favorites, Tower of Terror, California Screamin, Matterhorn (twice), Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates (for Eli), Indiana Jones and even Splash Mountain! Which, to no surprise, we DID get wet!

The next day was Disneyland again, and Huntington Beach. Which I had never been to. We had a very romantic dinner on the pier at Dukes, and walked along the beach. So cliche, I loved every minute of it.

Saturday, we decided to make our way home. The 10 hour drive actually didn't seem that long until right outside Vegas the freeway came to a screeching halt where we were stopped for almost an hour. We tried to make it all the way home on one tank of gas, and almost made it until I thought I was going to pee my pants. After a short stop at the South Jordan Walmart bathroom, we finally made it home. We had such a great time, and made lots of fun memories. I am so thankful for Josh, and all he does for me. I love him so much. He makes me so happy, and makes me a better person, and most of all, he makes me laugh.....a lot!

Okay, FINALLY I will blog

So, as you can probably already tell, the day was wonderful. I loved every second of it!

The temple was extremely early, but it was great. Julie and Duane were nice enough to take me to the temple where Josh was outside waiting for me. I was so happy to see him. We were told we were glowing, and I really think I was. The ceremony was SO beautiful, and after that, I knew that this is what marriage is all about. I am so thankful for an eternal marriage.

We got all sorts of pictures at the temple, which I am still waiting for, and will post as soon as I can, but it was a great day. The weather could have been a little warmer, but we did chose to get married December 30, so I guess we couldn't have asked for anything better. Josh was freezing, but I was fine, even in a short sleeved dress. I guess I was warm on the inside. Oh, cute! Thanks to Duane for always making sure I had my coat on and off for all the pictures.

The luncheon was wonderful, and thanks to Bob and Pam for sitting with us. We thought for a minute we were going to have to talk to just each other.....but alas, the Ellis' came to the rescue. I thought the food was great, and the speeches were even better. Thanks to Keli for taking one for the Noorda team and being the spokeswoman. Even with her "excitement" she did a great job!

Now, to the reception we go. It could not have looked anymore beautiful! The grass turned out wonderfully, with a little help from the Heath Food Store for the cake. The cake was by far my very favorite part. Thanks to Connie for making my vision a reality, and making it better than I could have imagined. The food was so yummy, although I wish I could have eaten more. :) 8 o'clock on the button, Josh broke the line. He was more than ready to leave, so we cut the cake, with no stains on the dress thank goodness, and the bouquet was thrown along with the leopard print garter Jill and Kelli had picked up for me. Then, off we went in our "Shaggin' Wagon".

I have to say a whole lotta thanks to all those who helped. I couldn't have done any of this without ALL my sisters. Let's not forget Troy too, who was the manufacturer of our grass growing operation. I also wanted to thank my Aunt Julie who is the next best thing to my mom, and I love her dearly. I am so thankful to have her, and so thankful she could be my escort at the temple. I know since my mom couldn't have done it, there wasn't anyone better than Julie. I also wanted to thank all those who helped with the reception, food, clean-up and everyone who came. There are so many of you, and it would take many more lines to thank you all.

Here is just a preview...

I will post later about the day, but here is just a little preview:
